Joí Gresham, LICSW

 

Joí (Joey) is a native of Birmingham, AL and matriculated through the Fairfield City School System. Joí is  a graduate of Alabama A&M University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work and the University of Connecticut (UConn) where she earned her Masters Degree in Social Work with a Certificate in Black Studies. 

As a Social Worker, Joí has served vulnerable populations such as elderly, youth, adults living with severe mental illness, persons dealing with substance use disorders and facing incarceration for 13 years. No matter the population, Joí’s personality enables her to relate and connect to those she serves with high expectations, tough love, and empathy. 

Additionally, Joí is trained in Perinatal and Postnatal Mental Health and as a Parental Leave Coach. She will be certified in 2022 which speaks to her love, empathy, and passion for serving moms, couples, and the family system as a result of her own personal journey of navigating conception planning, pregnancy, postpartum (4th & 5th Trimesters) and Motherhood beyond while balancing other roles and responsibilities. 

Joí empowers her clients, to lead lives of choice and opportunity and believe that “You were born to LIVE, not just exist!” In addition to this message, she pours into moms, helping them to achieve health, healing, and wellness by consistently pouring into themselves first so that they are offering the best version of themselves to their child(ren), partner, and other members of their village.
